Professional Summary

I'm QiMing Zhu (Moli), the creator behind VenusSound. I work across sound design and audio tool development.

I started in film/linear storytelling and mixing. Over time, exploring more non-linear structures and interactive thinking reshaped how I work: I like expressing a linear emotional arc through non-linear structures, and bringing that non-linear mindset back into linear workflows to improve clarity, efficiency, and detail.

I care less about making things louder or bigger, and more about helping listeners hear what I intend them to hear at the right moment. I treat sound as attention orchestration—combining psychoacoustics, mix structure, and dynamic control to shape hierarchy and emotional flow, so that hearing itself becomes part of the expression.

Today, VenusSound focuses on two outputs: DSP Audio Plugins and Professional SFX Libraries. Both are iterated from real-world needs, aiming to provide tools that fit sound-design workflows more naturally.

On SFX libraries: I treat them as sweeteners—not trying to be a massive “everything library”, but to add the tiny “missing layer” on top of an existing design: spectral texture, transient grit, energy movement, and subtle interference details. Often, a small touch is enough to make it feel finished.
